I found a 2008 CPO 528i from a dealer. Mileage is about 55k.

It has sport and premium packages with manual transmission.

Dealer is asking close to $30k, which I feel a little too much.

What do you think is a fair price for this vehicle? Do you feel $25k is lowballing?

Thanks.

30k is a RIP OFF! i would suggest buy an e60 from an independent dealer. make sure the e60 is still under its factory warrenty (4yr/50k) miles and then go to the dealership and buy the extended warranty then. i bought my fully loaded 08 528i over a year ago for 28k and it had 30k miles.

I did a search at BMWUSA ... http://www.bmwusa.co...odelsearch.aspx and '08 528 were being offered in the mid-high 20's and up from there [at least in the eastern USA] but all had automatics. If you set the stage for negotiation "properly" you'd lead the dealer/seller to believe than a manual transmission for that car is a 'negative' - in fact most e60 buyers would be wanting an automatic (even if the manual is more fun to drive, etc).

This is exactly what I'm planning to try. Hopefully, it works out.

I'm not considering automatic at all. The trouble is I'm having very hard time finding any manual E60. I've been looking over a month in Southern California and there's very little. I never imagined it would be this hard to find one here.

With sites like Cars.com, Autotrader and KBB, I find it difficult to imagine why anyone would have difficulty figuring out what kind of deal they're getting. Great resources for finding out what other dealers are charging.
