Guys I figured I would give all the heads up. I was looking at purchasing a Mercury Platinum Policy for my 04 545i with 40k on it recently. Prior to June 1st, 2008 I received a quote of $3100 for 5 year 100k with $100 deductible. I called today and with the new rate increase it is $4600. Easy math here it went up about 50%. I have warranty coverage through my CPO till Nov 09 and think I will just ride it out after that. I will just plan on sticking away money on the side for repairs. I wonder at what point it is just not worth it to get it.

you must have typed in the wrong info. there was a slight increase.......nothing near 50%......i bought my policy last month for 2060.00 plus tax....the same policy is now 2175.00 plus tax.

I may have been mistaken but maybe it was a passage of time that caused the increase even though it was one month.

I got my policy on 5/31 for $2.5k. Now it quote $3.5k -- 40% increase.
