Seriously man I feeel so bad for you, but after reading through all this it really frustrates me that you have not gotten a lawyer involved! If you were a close friend of mine I would be going off yelling at you... but you already must feel horrible+1 so I wont. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO GET A LAWYER!!!

When a guy like that is already up to his neck in legal troubles then he wont give a shit about your specific case. He is in panic mode right now trying to hide assets and weather the legal storm he is facing. The lawyer is for you to protect yourself and your invested money. The lawyer is not for putting him in jail.

You must be a really nice and reserved person. If I was in your situation I would have already tracked this sucker down and pounded him out. Or at least rent an enforcer to do it for me so there is no legal recourse against me. Seriously if you know any bookies or have friends who are hardcore sports betters you can easily hire an enforcer to help you intimidate and convince... Going rate in HI is a few hundred for his time, and usually we pay the guy $1000 if he has to get down and really fight. But I digress, at this point you have too much legal stuff going on for you to take the low road.

Oh and if I forgot to mention it... GET A FACKIN LAWYER NOW!

my best wishes to you

Here's the thing, I have spoken to lawyers and consulted with several already. To my specific case, the consensus is that hiring a lawyer is not cost efficient. The honest response that these lawyers have given me is that just filing paper work, etc. alone would already ride up the costs to the thousands.

I am thinking over this right now, and I think I may chat with this supposed title-holder, and see what it is he wants. It's odd that he hasn't come for the car, or call me back, so perhaps he has more insight to this... and potentially, if he would just the transfer, that obviously would just end all of this. Sigh.

If that fails, then I guess it's the media outlet =(

And apparently this guy also has a car detailing business... or maybe its a different person with the same name...

Anyhow some guy at M5 forums is saying hes known him for years. Maybe you can contact him and see if you can get any info from him?

guys profile - http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/mem...ogh3-17903.htm

from the thread: "SAN DIEGO! I now do it it myself, and unfortunatealy don't know anyone in LA. BUT for San Diego I woudl highly recommend John Mussari. I have gone ot him for years and if needed a detail and found myself in San Diego I would not hesitate to get an appt. He can be found down in Hazzard Center in Mission Valley. He LOVES BMW's! Call early if you ever do it?

Kryptus: thanks for the information. The sorrento valley address seems to be his old address for his dealership. And the other contact, Michael Loomis sounds about right. While I was there to pick up the car, I met a sales guy named Michael.

As for the car detailing, the first time I met John Mussari, he mentioned that he used to run a detailing business. Thanks for pointing out that post over at m5board. The number is a lead at least.

edit: actually, I just ran a check on the number. Seems like that detailing business is no more. Will look into it a little more.

Also, Kryptus, how did you find out about Michael's name? Maybe you can PM me. I just need to know his middle initial to find out more info about him.

Wow, this is just great. I ran background check on Michael Loomis, and the guy has at least 5 criminal records. At least one is armed robbery, and another is criminal escape. Wtf?! Wonder if he's actually a wanted criminal?!
