My order date was March 26 and I received the following e-mail from my perky sales rep today...

I just checked on
the status of your 545i and it has actually started production earlier than
projected! As of the April 20th at 7:39 am it has entered 150 status, so
it now has VIN # & body. The next stop will be the Paint Shop! It should
be done by the end of this month. It will then wait a day or two at the
dock to be shipped over seas, which is usually a 12 day process. Once it's
at our Port of Entry (in NJ), it take just a few days to come up. That
would probably by mid to late May! If I check in a couple of weeks, I'll
probably have a better idea. Unfortunately, it's hard to give you an exact
date due to unforseen events that may (although unlikely) occur during the
shipping process. Would you like me to give you another update on May 7th?

Congratulations!
I ordered mine about 4 days earlier so I should check on the same thing.

My Ride: Pretty basic I guess. I have the sport, premium and cold weather pkgs. I took a risk on color selection by getting the monaco blue exterior with the auburn seats and door panels. I love both colors but have not seen the two together.

My car has been waiting for a shipping vessel for over 2 weeks. Not knowing when it will be shipped is driving me crazy to the point where I want to renig on the order and tell my dealer to keep it WHENEVER IT ARRIVES. BMW has really messed up on this aspect. this has been a terrible experience and I will never order a car again.

When you say waiting for a ship, where are you getting your information? If you are using the Owner's Circle website, be careful, it is delayed by varying amounts. In fact, the OC said my was "Awaiting transport" the day it arrived at my dealer...

Yeah you can enter your VIN into the WW website and track the shipping status.

I'm with you brother.. check my sig.. my car's been sitting at the port since 2/15.

My dealer has no clue when it's going out or why it didn't go out on the 2 ships that left Bremmerhaven since 2/15. I'm frustrated as well but what are my options? Go get a Lexus GS430? Looks nice inside but just doesn't drive the same.

I guess in the end, waiting an extra few weeks won't kill us. But it really is dissapointing.
