I'm sure the service menu in my iDrive has a count down to when they need changing but I'd have to double check. My car now has 59k miles on and I seem to remeber they need doing in the next 2k miles.

BMW reccomends at $100K but if you care about your car u can do it at 60K. I did mine at 60K not much difference but i'm sure it's better this way

That would be me. Very happy with the result.
What did you replace them with? I'm not a huge Bosch fan, I was thinking NGK platinums or NGK Iridiums

I went with Bosch YTTRIUM, I got them from Turner Motorsport. I figured German car, get German plugs. Then I took the old/OEM ones out and they were NGK's, even said NGK on one side BMW on the other. Couldn't believe it... But the Bosch work fine so far. Car runs great and the slight miss at idle has gone away...

When the spark plug replacement was at my expense the change interval was 60K miles ... now the interval is 100K miles so even if you have the extended maintenance package (100K miles) the owner pays for spark plug changes.

I've just clocked over onto 60k and the iDrive is displaying this...

That should not have happened unless someone reset the spark plug interval in I-drive. The interval should be right around 100k, more like 100,100 miles so BMW does not have to pay for it under any circumstances .

I've got a total of 57K on mine and only 120 mls remaining until the scheduled Oil Change... However, I plan to have the service center replace the Spark Plugs as well... I believe the 60K rule to be reasonable and wise.

I Have 40K miles on my car at moment and I notice that from idrive I will be on 63K miles before I will need spark plugs. I have got service inclusive so will have to pay for them
