[/quote]1,300 for SMG only on the 550? I do not think the 545 SMG had it. The BMWUSA "build your 550" does not show any gas guzzler tax.

[/quote]I don't know about the 545. My dealer is quoting gax guzzler tax on all 6 speed manual and SMG 550s, but no gas guzzler tax on the steptronic. It varies between $1,000 and $1,300 depending on production volume. Their email to me states that it "should be $1,000 on this car." They further state that, "the Gas Guzzler is reflected in the MSRP on the car at the time of production." Thw BMW website excludes all tax, title, registration, and license costs. Kellys Blue Book web site quotes the tax at $1,000 too.
I don't understand how the manual should have worse gas milage than the automatic. Maybe it has to do with how we will drive the car

2005 545i/SMG did not have GGT associated with it. Somehow, BMW got around it. But I'm seeing 1300 for GGT on 550i/SMG and Manual...none for auto.
That sucks...it may sway me away from an '07 550i...maybe!
