I have a few lights and fault messages pop up in my car. (passenger headlamp malfunction, passenger restraint error, and plus CD player doesn't work) I took car into service center and the SA told me i can pay $140 to take a look at each problem or just pay $280 for a full car diagnostic. This is my first trip to a service center since warranty expired and I just had a few questions. Is that the normal cost of hooking the car up and checking it out? And would i be paying $140 (or $280) on top of what it costs to fix the problem?

For the $140 the SA should be able to pull ALL the codes and give you an estimate for ALL repairs.

At this point its up to you to decide whether to have everything fixed or just certain items. Your money is gone at this point, but should you choose to have them fix anything the fee goes toward the actual repair.

$280 for a "full diagnostic" is complete BS.
