That is EXACTLY WHY I look my car over VERY closely as soon as they hand me the keys! they will usually look at me like I'm crazy while I do this, but I could not care less! because if I bring my car back with a complaint like that, they'll be tap dancing so fast trying to convince me that it DIDN'T happen while in their possession, they'll probably pull a muscle!!!

Agreed...I do the same...although I am a little less obvious. I feel very comfortable with my current dealer though and know they wouldnt hassle me.

I make it quite obvious to them that I am looking for damage so that they will know right away that there is a problem. I also check my odometer for excess mileage. My logic is simple: If I find something wrong in their presence, there will be very little room for denial on their part.
I couldn't agree more.......... I took my car in to fix a slow leak in a tire when I picked it up I inspected the whole car and found they chipped the rim slightly , no denying it ! They profusely apologized ! I'm going to take just the wheel and tire in to get it fixed. I've seen too much service shop carnage to trust them now ! Good luck

The first BMW stealership I used always had an attendant on duty when you dropped the car off and he marked all of the damage on your paper...fool proof method. They should all probably do that.
