NOOOO Stay away from HR Owen Heathrow - they are a bunch of twats!

Issue 1 - Washed my car through a carwash - left swirl marks all over it and scratched the alloys using an alloy wheel brush -when I went back they did not want to know!

Issue 2 - I work around the corner from them in Stockley Park and my companies security guard saw a HR owen driver drive my 535d like it was his dad's! My Guard asked me who was driving my car like a maniac and then I figured out it was them!

Issue 3 - Took car in as windows creaked and they said it was normal then took the car in to Specialist Cars BMW and they replaced my window seals without any hesitation.

ALL THIS HAPPENED ON THE SAME DAY

HR Owen are a total NO NO I would NEVER recmmend them to anyone not even my enemy!!!
Oh Oh
- Thanks = Just canceled an appointment scheduled for after Christmas
If I see a service technitian driving my car this way - I MAY kill him.

I realise this is a mainly US site, but it seems many UK residents are around too.

I was wondering as to which London dealer do they use and can recommend on the basis of customer service, and being up to date with BMW (in terms of having the latest software and being aware of all the issues).
Thanks
I tried Hexagon highgate twice and was not very impressed. Any thoughts on BMW Park Lane (I believe they are owned & run by BMW direct) so maybe they are the most uptodate.

Hi
i am from east London and between east and south i have gripes about the dealers i have used.
I bought my last 325 con in Synter Harold wood Ronford becouse the service was so good, now i go there for everything.
Now own 530 e60 which i bought at Cooper Tunbridge Wells. They're good, still can't beet Romford.

To add my observations;

The dealers in Maidenhead ( on the edge of Slough really ) are a total NO NO I would NEVER recmmend them to anyone not even my enemy!!!
They screwed the car up and kept me waiting hours many many times. Only a county court claim sorted things out !

I would not recommend Coopers in Tunbridge Wells either ! ( I bought my car there and they couldn't even be bothered to mail me a BMW magazine)

Sunningdale ( Sytner ?) have some new premises.
Some of the technicians are outstanding . There is a bodywork guy ( Jeff?) who really helped me out once.
The organisation is good and the manager there, Paul Looker is a very decent helpful straightforward guy who I would 100% recommend.

If you pay for your car with your own money and want it treated accordingly then he is the man to speak to.

Good luck!

(PS Park Lane BMW can offer very useful discounts on new BMW's though as others have said , hopeless for aftercare)

I bought mine from Stephen James in Enfield and their aftersales has been spot on, despite several niggles with the car. The aftersales director even gave me his X5 for the weekend when my car was at the dealers.

Only downside is that they are closed on Sundays as the owner is a religious dude

I take my car to get serviced there, my (personal) impression of them is that they are trying hard to please, almost as thought there's a particular drive or target on that. However there has been the odd little thing where I've been slightly disappointed - they always say they'll 'phone me' when the car is ready and they never have once!

We always have to do the slightly shocked - 'oh your car has been ready for [x amount of time] sir' thing - after I eventually give up waiting and phone to see if it's done.

And I always leave my service book out to get stamped now - and even then I have had to physically take it to the desk myself aftwerward.

But they gave me a CIP upgrade (completed same day) after a little prodding, and appear to have always serviced it fine, and fixed a couple of little warranty items without delay.

I'll certainly continue taking it there...

My car has had some issues since I bought it and they have been excellent in fixing them under warranty and have given me some extra bits I've asked for gratis to keep me sweet (fitted rear window tints and an AUX in port for me, etc) although I have had to be patient with them. Faults I've had since I picked the car up last May:

- battery kept going flat (a fault that the previous owner rejected the car for but they had failed to fix and took them another 2 goes to fix it)
- bonnet open sensor failed
- seatbelt pre-tensioner failed
- MASK system failed (having driven 100 yards after picking the car up from the previous fault)
- steering position sensor failed

I think that's about it. Although now my eyebrows aren't working and the rear parcel shelf rattles.

Take a look at this website, its got reviews on them for garages and main dealer BMW service centers for all of England. There is other interesting stuff on it too.
