Thanks for the legwork guys. I think I'll do it. I did have a 2008 Range Rover supercharged on order but this will save me about $50k or so . And I can drive my wife's Range Rover when I feel the need.

If anybody else has input feel free.

You know your car and its maintenance and driving history - that makes it a "better" deal than any other CPO BMW.

That said, nothing ventured - nothing gained.

In addition to the advice you've gotten I'd add "negotiate another gimme"; the 2 yr 50K maintenance package sells for about $1700. See if your dealer's sales manager will seal the deal by throwing it in ! The worst that person could say is "NO"! Besides, there is no charge for asking.

When I flipped the lease on my '98 Z3 I did the same and at that time BMWCCA permitted multiple "rewards". I got the first when I leased it and another when I technically bought a CPO (even thought I really bought my leased car!). Of course if you're not a BMWCCA member that doesn't matter. By the way, back then it cost me $800 to CPO my car.

Better the devil you know than the devil you are about to meet!

Good luck on closing your deal.

... they can waive my last 3 payments (about $2700 total)..
They cannot waive anything. The car belongs to BMWFS and lease agreement is between you and BMWFS. All your dealer can do is buy the car from BMWFS and sell it to you. In this case they are selling it to you for $2,700 more than they would if the lease was paid off. You are the one who is paying that $2,700. If I were you, would wait till the lease is over and get it for $3-3.2K less than now.
