Hello all,

i have the bmw 19" 172 alloys and every wheel has some curbing,, one in particular is really bad, they are around 1.5 years old so could do with a general refurb.

Does anyone know of a good company i can call in London/Essex area.

Thanks

I took mine to a dealer and I managed to haggle him down to ?70 to refurb my 172 wheel. Normally they charge ?90 +VAT. They did a excellent job, good match.

Not used these guys myself but have seen some threads that they have done a good job.

Go to 5Series tab -> New E60/E61 and last item is alloy wheel refurb. Located in Romford, Essex.
I got the same issue with my 172's but waiting for summer to get them done.

I've used THESE GUYS on a few occasions and they're great. Come to whereever the car is (work or home) and charged 60 quid per wheel.

I've used MStyle too and the service was great but you have to go to them. They're not mobile.

I have used wicked wheels before and they do a very good job. Only cost ?60 per wheel and my wheels had antracite inners with a diamond cut face. They had to be sent away for the diamond cutting though.

If you are going to get all the wheels refurbed why not get the 172s diamond cut.

What would 172's look like with a Diamond cut finish anyway?

Here's a diamond cut M6 style wheel.
I think the 172s would look good diamond cut.

So does diamond cutting just involve the squaring off of the edges??

Diamond cutting involves putting the wheels on a lathe and facing them, then polishing them to give a metal finish rather than a painted finish. Clear laquer is used on top.

I agree then.......The 172's would look pretty nice with that finish. Might look into having it done on mine come summer.
