What's up all? When you buy a CPO vehicle, BMW gives you a warranty until 100K miles, correct? If I buy a CPO 2008 550 with about 10K miles and plan to sell it prior to reaching the 100K mark, would it still be advisable to purchase the extended warranty plan? I'm definitely going with then extended maintenance plan, but not sure about the extra warranty coverage.

Am I missing something with the CPO vs. Extended warranty coverage?

Thanks for the help.

Certified Pre-Owned in most cases should have warranty till 100k. If they don't and you would have to purchase depending how much it is i would buy it because it would give the car future resale value. From factory you have till 50k miles with everything include, CPO extended you need to purchase the maintenance. I would find out if all CPO are required to come already with 100k extended no matter how new they are, i think they do. Call BMW of North America.

Thanks for the response. I wanted to ensure the extended warranty plan doesn't cover different items than the extended CPO warranty. Why pay double for the same coverage?

extended warranty kicks in after the 50k. It covers anything that breaks when it breaks.Anything subject to wear and tear is excluded. If you are planing to keep only for a few years then dont bother, but if you plan to keep it after 50k or close to 50k then get it. Find out if extended is included when purchasing off bmw CPO lot. I think it is, so that would solve your delima.
