Don't forget your membership in the BMWCCA offers additional financial incentives!
Membership Rewards:BMW CCA members in good standing may be eligible for substantial rebates on the purchase or lease of a new or Certified Pre-Owned BMW from any authorized U.S. BMW Center. Rebates currently range from $500 to $1,500 depending on the model.

Great point!! Also, in order to be eligible for the rebate, one needs to be a member for one full, continuous year, prior to buying the car. Don't let the membership expire.

I purchased an e39 528 CPO'd and drove it for ~7 years. I purchased a CPO 2007 550 e60 last year. In each case I negotiated price. On the most recent one, I negotiated between $4k and $5k off the listed price. These are used cars and as such, I think it is expected that the price will be negotiated.

On my Second CPO car...Recently purchased an 06 wagon with an "asking price' of $31K and purchased it for low $20's with Maint, good until 2012

Also, got 0.9% financing from BMW, so i finanaced it (was going to pay cash) but banked my money and will make at least double on interest...

You loose the ability to fine tune the final car and options, but being patient is a virtue!
