My Ride: 2010 Lexus HS 250h...looking to get a 2011 535xi

Does anyone care to comment on their experiences (positive and negative) with either Perillo and /or Fields BMW dealers in Chicago, from both a buying perspective as well as service post-sale?

Assuming I could get equivalent deals (on a 2006 530xi)m which dealer would you recommend?

Thanks !

I have no experience with Fields but I wasn't really happy with the service dept at Perillo (where I bought my 545). I was trying to get Bluetooth activated and the parts guy took over a week to call me back to schedule me. I had it done at Knauz (would definately recommend Knauz) in one day for about $100, whereas the guy at Perillo quoted me at least $200+. Could be a fluke but I doubt I'd go back to Perillo.

Perillo is absolutely awful, and Fields is not much better. Have heard good things about Knauz but no first hand experience. Patrick is excellent and if you ask them to include their "red carpet (don't really remember if they call it the carpet or "key", but it's red something) club" membership for free, for any service needs, they will come and pick the car up from wherever you are in the Chicago area and drop off a loaner. They do a great job too.

I know you can get your BMW serviced at any BMW dealer, regardless of where you purchased it. But I am curious if it's "unwise" to purchase it at a place other than where you intend on getting service? Geographically, Perillo is the only dealer that is at all convenient for me. Is the availability of loaner cars dealer-dependent (meaning some offer them only to people who purchased their cars there), or is it something BMW "mandates"?

(That red-carpet service at Patrick sounds intriguing...)
