My E60 comes up in October and it sounds like the F10 might be out March. I love the E60 but also intrigued at the F10. Would I be able to extend my current lease to March to obtain an F10 or am I just stuck with the end of the body rotation, and wait 2 1/2 years for an F10? Also if you can extend do they keep you at the same terms or do they change your payments?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

I've extended my leases many times -- BMWFS has no problem doing so if you have a new car on order -- I can't imagine why they wouldn't allow an extension while you wait for the F10.
You may be able to renegotiate the lease payment but don't be surprised if things just stay the same...

In my experience, they will only do it if you have an order or a production number. If you go for a regular 6 month or year extension otherwise, they are going to ram you up your ass very brutally. The cost for a 1 year lease extension on my '06 500 was quoted to me by BMWFS as close to $2000/month.

BMWFS will usually let you extend your lease by 6 months and they will keep the same terms as your original lease (payments, milage, etc). However, I do hear this is hit or miss based on the BMWFS rep you talk to... They usually like to get a production number for a new vehicle, but you can have your dealership help if its too early to order one of the F10s.
But as DD_545i pointed out, no one is sure of the launch date in the US... So, it may not be spring of 2010 for the F10.

1 year lease will take you into October 2010 and by that time major bugs in F10 should be fixed.

By October 2010 you might (if you're lucky) see one in the flesh (unless you're in Germany and you've been seeing them for months). To say the bugs should be fixed is taking it a bit far.

Going through the same thing.
$1600/month to extend for one year.
They will extend for 6 months at the same price, but you are still overpaying by paying the same average amount for the first three years over year 4.
I am just leasing for 3 more years. I will be a couple of years into the new design, but I do not see any problem getting a really nice 550i (either 2009 or 2010). It won't suck.
