can u believe my luck
having received a courtesy car albeit a 330I. forjust one day i noticed that the run flat tire had a puncture. i took it back to the dealer the who promptly expalined tha =t under the terms of the loan i was responsible for the repalcement tire at a price of ?156.
i explained that i hardly had the car and whilst i accept that i may have run over a nail or something it is alos possible that it is a slow relasing puncture which could have been there before i took the car.
natuarly i am pissed of to say the least but does anyone think i should decline to pay for it. the dealers simply reinflated the tire and told me to have it replaced

abs,
You do not mention how many miles you've made with the loaner.
If that's a small number they cannot be sure the puncture was not there when you took delivery.
It's almost impossible to completely check a loaner (have you checked the toolkit in the trunk, the interior lights, floor mats, etc, etc), and impossible to discover a slow tire puncture on a RFT.
On that ground, the sensible thing for the dealer to do is to assume the cost as regular maintenance of the loaner, and I would decline to pay for it.
If you have signed some writen form that makes you liable for about anything, I would make them choose between keeping me as a customer or having the tire replaced.
Cheers,

It seems to me that they could replace it for a lot less money than you could on your own, so at a minimum they should do it at cost and pass the lower amount on to you. However, if you are a paying customer and plan to or have been using their service on a regular basis, they shouldn't quibble with you over this. I would tell them that if they insist on charging for this that you are going to take your service business elsewhere. If they still want the money, then be sure to let everyone you can know how poorly this shop treats its customers.
Ask to speak to the Service manager. Explain the issue and tell him your not happy. If he insists on you paying tell him you would accept a comprimise situation. See what he coems back with. Best shot if they refuse to pay is that they pay at least some of the cost towards it....
for some reason i feel paranoid to take my car to the dealer. I have little luck with loaner. The last one the gave me was a daywood. (can not even spell the name)
+ the person who was riding the car before me was a "HEAVY SMOKER" sorry charly that smell almost made sick. I felt wacko.

thankd guys for ur comments. i must have done at most 50 miles.
having received ur words of comfort i feel obliged to take this matter up with management.
will keep u posted on what happens.
for all those who care the delear is based in stratford london and by what i have seen they must be one of the worst out there.
infact whilst waiting at the dealers for my loaner i heard other irate customers complainig about the service received. apparrently in one case they had change the ownership detail of the log book without the client knowing.
