Buying a E60...
#11
Revisiting this thread...we are heading to the dealer tomorrow to check out a CPO 07 550i ($40k with 19k miles: Prem, sport, nav, sunshade, comfort, active steer, sirius) decent deal? we will bargain for a better trade in price. We wont pull the trigger tomorrow itself, as i want to drive a 535.
We are considering 2007 550 and 2008 535. Was there an engine change from 07 to 08? Mileage ratings went from 17/25 to 15/23.
Is there anything i need to look for during my test drive?
Our budget is $40k. Would the 535 be a better car to get (newer)? of course i'll test drive both to get a better feel.
Thanks
Franklin

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
The best part is the hunt. Take your time and don't settle for anything. Get the car you want. G/L

IMO, a manual was a must for me, as i dont want to deal with the problems of the automatic. I also love the manual much better. For that, you will need a 545. I love driving mine every day . Although, i want some more power at some point..
