Hello, anyone have any info on breaking a lease. I am two years in to a three year lease of my 04 530.
I want another BMW but figured I would ask here before I go to my dealer and ask about doing this.

any info is greatly appreciated.

thx

I think that there is a table with the value of your car - how much you still owe. But there are many factors to consider - like how much the car is actually worth - becasue they set the value of the car when you sign the lease, but generally if you break the lease you owe money if you trade the car to a dealer. You could try to sell on the open market for more than the payoff - which you should be able to get from the dealer. With the values of the used BMW's so high here in the states you may be able to get out of the lease. Another variable is how much the dealer wants you repeat business. Kind of like getting a new cell phone plan - if they know they are going to keep you they may give you what you owe for the car.
Generally the dealer and the bank hold all the cards.

Hey that was my 100th post - cool
