My Ride: 2003 X5 3.0----->gone
2004 Porsche Cayenne S : Gemballa front and back bodykit, fabspeed bypass pipes, Gemballa exhaust pipes, full option, 20" factory sport design rims------>gone
2005 545i 6-spd manual---->de-badged, CDV removal, Autosolutions short shift kit, resonator removal, premium package, PDC, xenon, almost full options, hardwire V1 install ....looking for mods...
2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
Definitely good news. Only question is....will it be much much harder or easier to get rid of an Individual-spec car ??Wondering since the color choices are not mainstream such as silver....

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
This must be the latest German MBA stroke of genius. Leica M cameras now have an "a la carte" where, for an absurd fee, you can specify purple ostrich covering on your camera, as well as how you'd like the engraving (logo or your name) to appear.

It seems to be what happens when the current crop of MBAs runs out of ideas to get customers to pay more for the same product.
Cheers,
Ray Hull

My Ride: 2007 530i, white/black manual, sports package, nav, PDC, etc.
Whatever happened to this thread? Just another rumor that has died, or will it actually happen?
BMW actually started the Individual program in the early 90's--hasn't been available in the US, though. Porsche has had a similar program for years (call Exclusive) which is available in US:

I talked to Dave Parker at Stevens Creek BMW today about this and he said that we CAN order special exterior and interior color for dealer pickup order, not for ED pickup order. Price tag: $2500.
Not worth it.
