BMW in for engine sound

Hello everyone, yesterday I took my car for service, it is an 04 5 speed e60.. 55k because of a noise that months ago thought it was from my steering column, today I got a call from my S.A saying that the mechanic is doing everything to find what the noise is..
but he mas like jocking whit me saying that probably can be normal.. can anyone please listen to the noise and tell me if someone has the same noise.. maybe normal..

yikes that dosent sound too good to me...sounds as if the engine is struggling

update.. need new transmission... free under warranty

Yeah, I have the exact same noise I took it to the dealer about 2 years ago, and they told me it is very common with manual transmission BMW's, all you need to do is hold your clutch down when you turn-off the engine and the gear won't rattle and make that noise. It works every time.

mine rattles even if I hold the clutch the sound was terrible at quite places.. like my garage or parking lot So Embarrassing.. but the S.A told me the noise was coming from the transmission, that they don't repaired it, they just have to put a new one hehe.. does this whole thing involves a lot of time? mounting and dismounting the transmission?
