Thank you!

I didn't buy my e60 from any of the BMW dealerships in San Diego, but I do get it serviced at BMW of San Diego. IMO, they're the best servicing dealership in San Diego. They will offer a courtesy car regardless of where you bought your BMW.
As for buying a e60, your friend shouldn't limit it to just San Diego. He should also consider the Orange County dealerships. Best way to get a good price would be to bypass all the salesmen and deal directly with the Internet Manager or Fleet Manager.

Most centrally located is BMW of San Diego. BMW Encinitas under new ownership , Brecht in Escondido, or Cunningham in El Cajon.
BMW San Diego has largest service dept., and provides new Camry's as loaners. Owned by Penske.
I bought mine there from Pat Springer and have had a very good experience from purchase ( I special ordered mine) to service and warrranty matters.
Call Pat. He's their #1 salesperson and handles internet sales. Not a typical car salesman. He is professional and patient with good listening skills and he is willing to negotiate. I will buy from him again.

I agree about including Orange County in the mix. With knowledge from this board, I went armed and equipped up to OC and ended saving $2,000 on my deal up there from Crevier. Worth the extra 1 hour 15 minute drive each way. They just seem to do much more volume in OC and, therefore, are more willing to negotiate.

When I say I saved $2000 at Crevier, I meant the deal I got there was $2000 better than the best deal I could find here in San Diego.

Wow... Crevier gave you the best deal? They're usually the OC dealership that gets slammed all the time. I'm not sure if Crevier is still doing market adjustments for the M5s and M6s. Was in BMW of San Diego last weekend and looked around the showroom and noticed that there wasn't any "market adjustment" added to the price.

Thanks for all the comments. My buddy decided to buy it from LA instead and drive it up back to San Diego. He ended up buying the car from Pacific BMW.
