where in miami are you located exactly? i don't know if your willing to drive to coral springs,FL but there's a shop called Autodreams. they specialize in high performance but there is a guy there who paints quality work. i seen him paint maserati's, lotus's, bentley's, pretty much he does the big cars. he did my car and that paint has no orange peel. it looks better than the factory paint job. he takes his time on the work and it's definately NO affordable paint and body work. just go in there and ask for a dude named Clem.

a little update:

well i took my car to BMW Collision center in Hollywood Florida... after a week at their facility they decided to make it a TOTAL LOSS

turns out that the radiator support got pushed so far back into the engine compartment that it hit the A/C compressor, pushed on it and cracked the engine block! yes thats right, the engine block has a 5"-7" crack (slit) right above the A/C compressor mount (saw it with my own eyes). they told me that the engine block is made of Magnesium alloy and its design to break appart so that an accident never reaches the cabin.... http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jk/051123.htm . So the cost of the repairs was about $12,000 and a new engine installed is a tad over $12,000 so its not worth it to the insurance company to save the car... which benefits me, i suppose

i will try to get some picks before the insurance picks it up from the BMW repair facility and junks it or does what they usually do with total loss vehicles

so now im waiting for the insurance to pay it off so i can get another 5er...

funny thing is that the damage to my car doesnt look anything like Jmsod's ( http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=49207 ) but its just in the way it hit

oh well...

ahh...

yeah my 04' 530i non-sport was declared a total loss cause of the engine damage. so the insurance paid for the car (and i actually made some extra money) and i purchased a 05' 530i sport!

it worked out for me cause the car i got now is SOOOOO much better! more options, i got a better interest rate (3.9%) and its a CPO with less mileage

so things happen for a reason and im glad it did!

thanks for asking,

orlee
