i have used my e60 525d for 3 years as a taxi the problems i have encountered are as follows, replaced power steering pulley, replaced rear suspension unit, replaced electric window motor all under warranty. replaced alternator after warranty had expired. i am still pretty pleased with car as after 100000 miles of hard use car still drives like new car.

I think Eddie (two posts up) might have intended to post in a different thread...

Anyway, there are now 224 5-Series up. Counts for the E60:
2004: 19
2005: <19
2006: 19
2007: 18
2008: 35

A year gets included in the main survey when 25 owners have signed up, so 2004, 2006, and 2007 are all close.

Help get your year included:

tried signing up but email adres rejected and must send directly an email.

sorry, but that's just a bit too much like address farming.

So I won't join or help with a survey. Good luck though, it may very well be genuine.

Note, this is my personal opinion and reaction to what I see when going to a site advertised here. It is not my intention to discourage anyone to participate.

It's certainly genuine.

But for the research to provide results, people need to provide valid addresses. Too many people were providing throw-away addresses that they never intended to check, so I started rejecting those. Same goes for addresses with "spam" or "junk" in them.

Anyone who's been participating can attest that I don't provide the addresses to anyone else.

No problem, that's why I added the note.

I also use an address with spam in it for reliability unknown sites. though I do check it regularly.

So I understand the measures you take and why.

PM or contact me with the address, model, and model year and I'll take care of it.

The 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 are all just a few owners short of the minimum needed to include them in the main survey.

Updated result for the 2008 next week.

An updated result has been posted for the 2008. It's reported repair rate remains better than average.

The 2005 and 2006 have been added to the survey. But the number of owners signed up is still near the minimum, and a few more probably will be needed to provide a result.

For all non-US owners: it's a survey for US spec cars only. Do you own a 520i, 520d, 525d, 530d, 535d? You're out of luck; can't enter the details.
