Two BMW's ago I purchased a 'semi-new' console from them for my 328i. The guy swore up and down that the one he was looking at was in outstanding condition and it was hard to tell it wasn't new. I repeatedly told him that I understood these were used parts, but that I would gladly wait if they didn't have a really good, near perfect one in stock. (The E46 is more famous for interior peeling than the few areas we have to deal with in the E60.)
What was mailed to me was from a car that had obviously never spent a day in a garage -- it was so faded all over with several different tones of tan, and looked 10 years older than my well taken care of car. To make matters worse, it was peeling much worse all over than the few areas on the original one that I was trying to replace. Oh, and just for laughs to add on, it wasn't just 'not clean,' it was filthy!
The guy helping me on the phone was not even close to be honest in his description.
Now, my experience was for an interior part made of plastic. Your success rate probably depends on the type of used item you are seeking. Trying to find something in good cosmetic condition is a totally different matter than a more mechanical part of the car.
Maybe you should share what you're thinking of buying from them to get more useful feedback from the others here?

is their location in Sacaramento (sunrise area) , California? if so, ive purchased a transmission from them a few years back. everything still works fine after 30k miles. maybe i got lucky? anyways, my overall experience with them is a hit and miss. some employees are helpful and some just make it seem like you need them more then they need you. if your in the area, i would shop around because there are other yards around there that have better prices.

Yeah seriously Ive ordered parts from them before for my last bmw
they are very honest in their assessment and dont try to deceive anyone
If you have an issue call them up and they will work with you. Ask for pictures in advance as well.
