My 545i was ordered on 4/27, completed production on 5/11 and has been listed as "awaiting transport" since then. I was told the car would arrive in at the dealer (Mountain View, CA BMW) by end of June, so I have nothing to complain about but I'm very anxious nonetheless! Is this the normal wait time prior to loading onto a vessel or should it have shipped by now? If anyone has pics of an orient blue 545 with black interior, I need my fix!

I assume the "Awaiting Transport" is from the Owner's Circle website. If so, know there is usually quite a lag. The OC said Awaiting Transport the day my car arrived at my dealer. That being said, if production just finished 5/11, you could either be on a ship already or actually awaiting...

ZinMe: Since you and I are "order buddies" with our matching pair of Orient Blue 545i Sports, let me tell you that my dealer tells me my car is scheduled to arrive in South Carolina on May 26. Now, whether that is an optimistic or pessimistic estimate I do not know. However, he told me there is a chance I could see the car before the end of the month. (I assume that means on Tuesday 5/31!)
It may be worth calling your sales person to get a better schedule update than is available online. The wait is killing me, as I'm sure it is you!

Zin, I just went through this. The OC wasn't that far off, but I was tired of seeing Awaiting Transport so I called my CA. He told me that it was awaiting and that it was scheduled for a ship the very next morning and that it should arrive in South Carolina by today. About 3 days later, it showed up as In Transit on the OC site, so it was only about 3 days off. My CA also gave me a tentative schedule on where it should go from there. I am going to check the site today, but I doubt that it'll be updated. I would call my CA, but I think I am making his job easier. I want to see how good his customer service really is. I've called everytime, I'm waiting to see if he calls me next. He promised to call and give me updates throughout travel with "actual" dates in comparison to the tentative ones...we'll see. For me not to call will take all of the patience and inner strength that I have because I want my car NOW!!!

Just looked this up, OC still shows In Transit. In all fairness, the site does say contact your BMW center for complete details.

Hopefully I'm on the ship or close to it. sounds like a quick trip on the boat once it leaves dock.
Good taste on the Orient/Black there!

For anyone who finished production in the last two weeks-- I just heard back from my dealer and the car is waiting on the dock until they have a full vessel for the trip to the US. No word on when they expect to be full.
