Does anyone have the new money factors for the 545 for August? With the 550 coming soon, would the dealers be willing to 'dump' 545's and lower the money factors. I have seen .0010 with a 60% residual (15k) for July. Wondering if I sohould wait a week.

I think the 15K residual is 57% (not 60%) - still pretty good.

I doubt the lease terms can get much better - you're more likely to get a big discount off sticker, thus reducing your monthly payment further.

Given the '06 model price increases and inevitably less favorable lease terms, an '05 545 will likely have a lease payment $150-200 lower than an '06 550 (probably as low as an '06 530) - not a bad deal as the true performance difference of the 550 is marginal and they really didn't change much else about it.

Selection of '05 models may be slim now.

Good luck

Hi there,

I was told by a salesperson that you could lock in a .0133 money factor on a ED 550 right now. Is there a big difference in the cost of a .01 versus .0133?

I was also wondering if one could get a 05 545 at invoice?

Go for the 545i quickly. Those are great lease terms-- I'll bet you can get .0012 range and less than $1,500 over invoice, but the pickin's may be slim as they inventory drains in anticipation of the 550i. The 545i has the older engine which is still overkill in terms of HP (in my opinion) and it should be more reliable than the 550i which is a brand new engine and will likely have kinks that need to be addressed.

Good Lease Calculation Page

.001 mf = 2.4%
.00133 mf = 3.19

The difference will make you payment more. Try the Lease Calculation web site listed above. I used it to estimate my payment and was off by $10.00 to what I actually got.

I agree with ZinME, the 545 is plenty of power. I can show you my 30 ft burn out in my SMG if you need more proof.

0.0133 sounds like the current ED rate but I seriously doubt this rate will apply to a 2006 550i. I think the salesperson is mistaken. Big surprise. The money factor will more likely be something like 0.027 plus the ED add-on for some number of months.

Leasing is never as good at the beginning of the model as it is around the Feb - April time frame. For my 2004 545 the payment I got in March was at least a couple of hundred dollars lower than it was at the beginning of the model year. I've noticed on other models as well.

You are correct. There is no way one could lock in that low an MF on the 550 right now. The salesperson is wrong.
