Someone told a friend of mine not to get a BMW right now because 2 cargo holds fell off one of the boats and when they recovered them, they were BMWs inside. I know it sounds ridiculous and I don't really believe it but my friend was serious and says the person who told her had no reason to make it up. Anyone else hear this?

Are you talking about the cars that are shipped from Germany in the large cargo ships? Cars have been lost in the past but BMW would never sell one to a consumer. In fact, they're probably still at the bottom of the ocean.

A whole ship sank in December 2002 that had many Germany cars on it (not just BMWs).

I thought they were shipped inside the vessels so how can two containers fall over? Unless the whole ship sinks...
