Active Cruise Control-car2.jpg

Situation

if I am driving with full speed and while overtaking ...

I surprized with a slow car .. in front of me !!

Question ??

will ACC detect the car faster & before I see it ? and what action it takes ?

will ACC apply As much as possible hard brake to avoid the accident happen ?

It will detect the car quite quickly, but won't do so before you see the car. What it seems to be really good at is determining the relative speed of the car in front of you. I would say that it makes this determination and reacts about as quickly as you would yourself. ACC only uses some of the total breaking power (I think something like 20%), so it won't break very hard, but a unique warning sound and, if you have HUD, a warning signal on your windshield, always tell you if human intervention is required.

This thread has gotten quite long, with many divergent opinions, but I can only add that I love ACC on very long drives - I once went 250 miles without stepping on the brake or gas pedal once - but I don't tend to use it for commuting or other short trips.

i never want to rely while driving a car on a system, if something goes wrong and you sit in the back row...
Yet you have active steering

I really like it on the highway, but not so good on the freeway ... but you shouldn't use any CC with tons of traffic.
