Casper is probably talking about a sales advisor or sales associate, not a service advisor...

perhaps but in the BMW world, SA is service advisor. If he meant salesman or CA, he should have said just that.

I thought the worse part of buying a BMW was trying to track it on the website for 6-8 weeks.

My lease experience was perfect. No markups or dramas, same price as the promotion. If they play tricks, just walk out. There is many dealers in Chicago right? I usually spend few weeks to shop until I found a better dealer. Don't rush and don't give up, may force be with you.

How did you verify that $825 was inflated? I'm taking delivery today on a 535xi and my dealer is also saying $825...I've seen others say it should be $625.
Ending to my story - I emailed my dealer the morning I was due to pick my 535 and questioned the $625 vs. $825 LAF, letting him know that I was quoted $625 by their competitor. When I showed up to take delivery, the LAF magically changed to $625 and neither of us brought it up. BTW, I picked it up last Thursday - what a car! Taking one on a couple test drives doesn't do it justice...unbelievable. Plat gray, natural brown, SP, 18" wheels...I forgot how much I missed these cars - I can't imagine driving anything else in the future.

Trying to negotiate with a BWM salesman is HELL! Most of them don't negotiate at all. The salesman will finally offer a reasonable deal and the sales manager comes in and f**ks the deal up. BMW would move so many more cars if they would teach their dealer/sales persons how to negotiate and treat their customers with respect.

Seriously though, if you are buying a ?50,000 car, does it really matter if you can "haggle" an extra ?2,000 off the price? I know somebody that will go and buy a ?7,000 car and will walk out of the dealer and make them beg for his business until they knock every possible penny of profit off the car, free tank of fuel, free floor mats, etc etc etc. The whole process is just embarrassing and I know that if he ever has a problem with the car, they will treat him like cr4p because they remember how he treated them when buying.

Me, I go in to the dealer, point at the car I like, say I'll have that one please, and that's that. I don't haggle. I just can't be bothered. After all, if I needed to haggle over a couple of thousand, then I shouldn't looking to buy a brand new BMW should I ... !!

Your attitude is exactly the attitude the Bimmer salesmans have, I am just talking business. BMW would move so many more cars if they would teach their dealer/sales persons how to negotiate and treat their customers with respect.

I don't know any on this earth that wouldn't pass up saving $2000-$3000 on a $50,000 deal. More money for mods
