I don't know, but count me in. OTOH, anyone who can't get the lock/unlock chirp right, doesn't stand a chance at optimizing the HUD menu for the relatively few of us that have SMG.

As much as I'd love the gear indication to be included in the HUD (I was one of the original suggesters of this feature and I sincerley hope it will be added in the future,) I will say that after a while, you get so used to the SMG that you begin to "feel" the car and you really don't need to know what gear you're in by any indicator.
There's a point where you just "know" what yoiu need to do as far as gear changes...

[/quote]The M5 has plenty to offer above and beyond the standard E60 - additionally, it's better to have more cars using the same software components (I know the firmware is different but there has to be some shared software components) - you can put more of your QA money into reusable software.

The Emmy has it, and the Emmy has to be something special. So giving this feature to the regular E60 would take something away from that Emmy-Speciality... In their eyes...

JDN, I think you'll find that the "feel" will come. If it never does, the one thing that'll happen, if it already hasn't, is that your eye will become trained on exactly where the indicator is so you'll be able to glance at the indicator without any thinking behind it so again, I'd love to see the thing get added to the HUD but it becomes less of an issue with time...

I'm not asking for what the M has (tach, etc.) just a simple number like the one in between the speedo and tach repeated up in the HUD.?

My Ride: 2005 545i SMG. Titanium Grey with Grey interior and Anthracite wood.
I might have found the replacement for my Titanium Silver 545. I am working on the deal tonight. If I get it, I will let the forum know.

Similar, but with HUD, sun shade and fold down seats.
