What??? How on earth did the dealer lose money to give you your car? so they lost $5050 to sell you your car? Hell I'll buy another one and sell it back to my dealer!

Could it be a typo? maybe Paid 62,000? 52 seems too good to be true

Brand NEW. First owner. First name on Title. And yes, $52,000 USD.

They had ordered the car for another customer in August 04. Car was delivered in Sept/Oct timeframe. Unfortunately for the delaer, the customer backed out at the last minute. So the dealer was "stuck" with a brand new 545i. Had a few people test drive (accounts for the 88 miles) but no takers. It was *almost* everything I wanted - except for NAV and comfort seats. I was close to ordering my a new '05 but the dealer REALLY wanted to clear his inventory. Plus the fact that in less than 5 weeks, that car would be considered one year old. So instead of me eating the first year depreciation, I told him he'd have to. Also, I had an 02 M3 cabriolet that was worth about $40k trade-in but he knew he could turn around and sell if for at least $44k. So in reality, he probably got close to his invoice on the 545 after the trade-in.

I don't feel so bad because I only paid 52k for the M3 two years ago, put 30k miles on it and sold it for 6k per year usage. Not bad for a $60k car.

Dealer is really good to work with (other than the fact that I live 230 miles away!). He would have ordered a new '05 545i for invoice + $1000. But this deal was too good to pass up. I already had a Garmin Quest portable nav unit and the sport seats work just fine (I know, I know... comfort seats ROCK).

So if you're in the market for a new BMW and don't mind working with a remote dealer, I'll pass along the contact info...

Cheers!

I paid (or will pay) 2500 over invoice for an '05 ordered car. You can do better if you can be happy with an '04 already on the lot.

I will venture to say, go to your dealer on 12/31/04 New Year's Eve morning and you can probably get some aggressive pricing on in stock 05's and 04's especially!

Just take delivery later in the afternoon!
