After a brief fling with Audi, I have been tempted back to BMW. As a UK company car driver I couldn't believe how cost effective the 520 diesel was!! so in two weeks I take delivery of a 520 M Sport in carbon black, having ordered it without driving the 2 ltr , yesterday i got the chance to test drive it and if you were considering one but were unsure - don't worry it's a cracker, before everyone writes back saying how great the 525/530/535 diesels are I don't disagree - all I'm saying is the 520 diesel is a very competent and cost effective 5 series and with the M Sport package and debadged no one will ever know!

PS the single exhaust is massive - at least 4" if not 5"

Those can be set by you via iDrive.

I suggest chrome grille installation - it looks very good with carbon black.

You don't say where you come from, however it sounds like the UK with your theory on the economics of the 520d. I bet the 520d goes well, I've driven a 120d and yes I know its lighter but the motor is good and should be more than capable of pulling the 5 series making it a fun drive. It'll be similar story to the old E34 518i which took everyone by surprise. The M sport pack makes the E60 shine IMHO so it'll certainly look the part. Personally I wouldn't debadge it so when you blow others away they'll be amazed when they read 520d on the back.
