trading in a 2005 M3 on a 2007 550i (silver gray, black leather, antracite trim and headliner, cold weather, fold down seats, logic 7, sat). Here's my dilema... I am thinking of adding the 166 wheels and/or the M Aero kit. In an effort to save a grand or 2, would it look better to add the aero kit an keep the stock sport wheels or get the wheels and not the aero kit. I've looked and looked at pictures everyone has posted (thanks by the way) and can't make up my mind.

thanks!

I put a set of snowtires on the 550 stock 17" wheels, and run 18" in summer; the 17s are just not beefy enough for the car, 18" is far better. IMO everyone drives a black car with the Aerokit, so if you like to stand out of the crowd, go for the wheels and don't take the aerokit: understatement & style pure!
(just my opinion! it's the road I took and never regretted it)

If you can you should get both because the M Aero package with 166 wheels looks just perfect, but if you have to choose go with the Aero package first since it's much easier to change wheels @ any given time.

I did the wheels first and then the Aero Kit....IMHO in the US the Aero kit does not look good with the 124 wheels - please no flaming

You could try and negotiate the Aero Kit into the price as it is cheaper than adding it later then add the wheels at delivery...just my 2cents

Cheers,

Choice of M-Tech Aero kit or 166s, I'd go with Aero kit. Wheels can be bought later and who knows you might not even go with the 166s if you've seen all the wheels here on display.

My choice is obvious - 166m and skip the M areo kit. Although the M areo kit is nice, the stock front/rear are not bad, but the wheels add a ton to the car.

I would suggest the m-kit side skirts as they really break up the lines of the side (which looks really hulky).

Congrats on your new ride - you will love it.

Depends on where u are. Here in Boston, I have yet to see an E60 with an aero kit so I would suggest you put the kit on. Like vegastrashed/jiio said, you can always put the wheels on later and who knows there are so many choice around....
