Hello,

I am in the market for a 530i, but came across a 545i 2004 with 9000 miles for $44k. Has Nav, logic 7, run flats, xenon, etc....

The same dealer has a 530i 2005 for $42k with 11,000 miles with similar packages, incl. Nav, xenon, etc..

Which one would you take?

It seems the biggest difference is going to be a year of warranty vs horsepower. I am conservative and would like the extra warranty, but reading the posts by people who have 8 cylinders, they REALLY love their cars, so I guess it depends on how you drive. Also if you put a ton of miles/year on a car the 04 will be able to absorb them better. Good luck in you decision - I wish all decisions were like this one.

Extra 2K for a 545i and 2000 miles less? I'd take that over the 530i.

The only thing going against the 2004 545i is that being it's the first year of production for the E60 you might encounter some technical problems and bugs. Several people in this board have reported problems with their cars. I'm one of the lucky ones, I have a 2004 and I haven't had any problems whatsoever, none

Good Luck.

THanks Guys.
I'm definitely leaning over the 545i....

Only issue I have is that I cannot take of work this week to go test drive it...
I'm in Fort Myers, FL and this car is in Illinois.....

Any suggestions on buying this long distance....?

That's the dealership!
But the one I'm thinking is the other 545i 2004 Stock #:24718. Blue Orient color. 10690 miles.

For me, definitely the 545i--unless it has problems. Check its service record. You can always add an extended warranty if you want.

When you will test the 545, i am sure that you will love it especially if you love sport driving.

i have a 545, 2004 and i have faced some minor problems with... but nothing serious.

good luck
