Is there a updated regional/national disc for factory Nav in an 02 BMW; and where do you get it? Evidently, the nav system was regional vs national and in 6 years may be outdated.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks

Navteq sells updated NAV DVD's and CD's -- as do your BMW dealers - very expensive (IMO). I think the current version is 2.2007. You can occasionally find earlier map products on auction sites but beware of bootleg copies being sold as the real deal. First confirm if your NAV is CD or DVD based.

If you travels take you thru areas of rapid growth the newer maps will include updated POI's (points of interest) and roads / streets. The map CD/DVD will NOT update the firmware on your NAV system - you dealer will have to do that for you and since you're probably out of warranty that will cost you.

Here's a good place to start exploring the "older" BMW Nav systems. I've previouusly done firmware updates on my 2001 e38. But I think the newest BMW Nav systems make that more challenging, if not impossible.
