learned here (e60.net) that you have to be "nice " to SA so they will take care of you,, i've read it in posts somewhere so i hope the empanadas work
If my BMW Store didn't already have fresh donuts and good coffee I'd bring in a dozen from a local bakery for them! It's amazing what mechanics would do for a fresh donut ... and you thought only law enforcement officers had needs!

Gene,
Thanks for putting this question up. I have about the same mileage you do and I dont hit my 1 yr. till February. So does that mean I should take the car in now?

best thing to do is to contact your SA. But according to the pdf luigi attached, it's 1 yr or 15K....

Same to you. I drive it hard on occasion, otherwise its babied just because of highway miles or just driving for fuel economy rather than fun. I'll call the SA anyways just to double check.

My car just hit 15,000 miles (7 months). I paid for my own oil change at 2,000 and I figured at 15k I was due for another change. When I dropped it off at the dealer my SA said BMW would not cover the oil change because the service interval indicator said it had another 4100 miles to go. We discussed it for a while and in the end I agreed to pay the $100 for the oil change - but I'm not real happy about it.
I need to get 200-300k out of the car - so I don't want to quibble about who should pay $100 - but it seems like a bit of a rip off. BMW has no incentive to get more than 50k miles (100k at best) our of an engine - and I am sure their service intervals will get the engine than far.

Sounds like you bumped into a "constitutional SA" who wasn't interested in bending a few miles for you. I can tell you that the last time I was in for scheduled service the Micro Filters replacement were due in 4 months but the SA suggested that it be done at the time I was in .. instead of making another trip for service in a couple of months.
