My Ride: On order: 07 550i, Jet black, black interior, steptronic, sports package, logic 7 sound minus CD changer, rear door mounted airbags, HUD, navigation and comfort access

I'm here in Southern California and I've been offered $2500 off MSRP for an 07 550.

Jet Black
Step
Sport
Preminum Sound
Navi
HUD

Using the wholesale price sheet for the 07 models that someone posted earlier, I figured it comes to about $2500 over invoice. Plus this place is not charging me the MACO fee, which others dealers charge about $500. The sales guy told me this is the best I'll find anywhere being that it's an 07 model and they first batch of 07 5 series that will come into the dealers if he places the order by Monday. He told me they were only allocated 5 550's for the first batch of orders and 4 were already sold. I would be #5. I'm thinking it's good because the other dealer I went to would only give me $2000 over invoice on an 06 plus they charge MACO. I'm going to check some other dealers around here, but I would like to know what prices you've gotten for your 07 550.

I got $1500 over invoice without much pushback. try that or walk out. They will call you, trust me.

Might be easier said than done here in Calfornia. Dealers here will play ball but certainly seem less willing to deep discount on new models.

I disagree!! I had to negotiate a bit, but ended up with $1500 over invoice from my local (small) dealership. After I committed to them, another dealer 30 miles away called and said they would do the deal for $1000 over invoice. I think it just depends on the dealership. Initially, my local dealer told me they MIGHT be able to go $2500 over invoice, but after realizing that I was serious, and willing to shop elsewhere, they came down. Right now, it seems that $1500 over invoice is about as good as anyone is getting on an 07. If there is anyone in California looking to order an 07, and can't get the deal they want, PM me, and I'll give you names and numbers of salespeople here that would be willing to accomodate!! My experience in buying has always been....you have to be willing to be patient, and be willing to walk away at least once if the deal isn't what you want. As has been mentioned before.....most of the time the dealer will call back.....I think it's worth shopping/waiting if you can save $500 or more......then you can get another option!! Just my .02

I agree, I think we're saying the same thing - it can take a bit more effort to get the prices you want out here.

Just an update. I want to thank kmslo530i for hooking me up. Ali at Santa Maria BMW gave me $1000 over invoice on a new 07 550. Didn't even have to fight to get that price either. So I went with Jet black, black interior, poplar wood trim, sport pkg, navi, HUD, comfort access, rear door side airbags, and the L7 system minus the CD changer. I saved $600 going this route since I use my IPOD all the time.

All said, it's $62145 invoice. Total of $63145. Just put $2000 down and now I wait. The dealer is about 3 hours drive north of me so I figure by the time it comes in, it should be around summer time. This should make for a nice drive back especially through the Santa Barbara area.

I think I'll stop by my local dealer tomorrow (New Century BMW) to see what they say about $1000 over invoice. I'm pretty sure they couldn't even come close and will tell me no one is doing that kind of deal. Then I'll just smile and walk out the door. No need to rub it in. Thanks again for all your help kmslo530i. My first beemer and I can't wait.

Just tell them that if they want your business, beat the $1000 over invoice. They might surprise you.

The only downside that I can see is that typically a dealership will not give you free loaners if you haven't bought from them. Keep that in mind. And from what I can tell, this dealership is far from where you live.
