Very nice, but $42K for a 9 year old car? Um, no, not worth it. You can find 2006-08 M5's for only a little more, granted more mileage but newer car with better gadgets.
Better gadgets?......this baby has a cassette deck, what 06-08 M5 can play your Wham and Madonna mix tapes. FS: Cleanest E39 M5-12320300665.265017443.im1.24.565x421_a.562x421.jpg

This car would be for a collector that would keep it low mileage and showroom new. I loved the E39 M5. Best car I've ever owned. Period. But I wouldn't/couldn't spend $42k just to have one in the garage.

I might be interested. However, KBB puts this at $25K at best, with this mileage, in new condition. Why is the seller asking almost $20K more for this? Is he/she assuming this as a collector's piece, hence the reason for such a high price? It's too bad 4 door sedans, regardless of model, are never considered collector's pieces. If they were, the E39 M5 would surely be one.

It really presents well. That was the car that made me want a 5-series in the first place.
