330 - too small
M5 - i wish...but outta my budget
Cayenne S - cool to have another pcar, but i didn't want a suv

I was about to buy an E39 540 touring. I was lined up to be the first to test drive it as it came available (read: prepped and cleaned by the dealer), but was called 1 hour in advance that somebody just bought it on the phone w/o even looking at it IRL. Still think that it also would have been a blast.
However, nothing better to do than ask what else was coming in in the near future ( I always buy second hand) and here comes the car I now own. Exactly the colors I wanted and a lot of the extras I wanted. Only thing missing is a better audio system and folding rear seats. The other thing I find a little bit of a shame is the fact that my nav system is the simple version w/o maps. Maps are better and nicer, but were not available at the time of construction plus have the downside that you loose the storage compartment (so I keep saying to myself).
Still the drive is brilliant and I think I made a good deal financially.

What do you mean by Nav without map? So you got nav on your car but the iDrive screen doesn't show it?

I do not have a wagon now and I was talking about my current wheels (E60). The nav system is the simple business nav-system. This system (with a smaller screen) has voice and arrow indication, but no mapview.
