Don't know about recent news, but a V8 Gallardo wouldn't happen especially with the introduction of the Audi R8. There was some talk that a V10 version of the R8 wouldn't happen so as not to take away sales from the Gallardo. If the R8 does get the V10, expect the Gallardo to get some type of power bump.

I don't know again if it is true or not, but the dealer in my area has told me that there will be a new V8 car and it has been confirmed to him by Ferrari. They have told me other things in the past that have happened well before it was released. My dealer runs the Ferrari LeMans team so I think they get a lot of information others may not. Again maybe it will not happen, but I was told that there is a new V8 coming that will be in the 400HP range and cost about the same or slightly less than the current F430. It will basically replace the F430 in the market place as far as price point. He siad it might actually ba a 2+2 to be more of a GT car that will be built on the former Maserati lines since Fiat has taken Maserati back from Ferrari. The F430 replacement will go upmarket slightly from where it is now. So do we call the new car an entry level car? Not really. I wouldn't say it is going to be any more affordable than the F430 is now, but perhaps the price won't be as high as the current F430. anyway FWIW which is really nothing other than if you want to believe it or not. Based on what we are seeing in the way of spy shots there is little doubt there will be a new car, but the question still really remains if it will be "affordable" or not. My bet on that says No.

...just pick up the new Motor Trend for finality on this subject. Ferrari CEO states imphatically that there will be NO affordable Dino type of Ferrari. The new V8 car will be the replacement for the F430 and will be shown over the summer. Direct quote from the CEO "Ferrari will never do a small car"; "Used cars are the entry level [Ferrari's]"

so start saving for that pre-owned, and eventually, maybe, you can get in line too for a new baby in the next decade!

New Ferrari confirmed. Not a "dino", but seems to confirm what I was told a few months ago. It is not "affordable", but it does replace the F430 in the entry price point for an Fcar, and the F4XX will be moving up market.

Not so sure if it does replace the F430 as the less expensive Ferrari.

According to this site, it will be $190,000.

This is hardly an entry-level Ferrari. Doesn't the F430 start at ~$175,000. Ferrari has denied an entry-level car and it looks as if they were telling the truth. Nothing is afforable about this upcoming car, it is just another model.

from the story in the current MT, its the F149 and going to be a front engine 2+2 to go against Aston Martin...it has a folding roof and will be priced below the F430s current level...
