I saw a news report last night that toyota motor company is recalling some lexus models for the seatbelts. To me it just looked really odd seeing it in bold print on the news. This is one of many reasons I would never consider a lexus, for all the money you pay, it has that cheap econo name of toyota attached to it. Its like BMW being made by OPEL

Lexus designs always look Toyota-ish. Even new LS with truck transmission, I still don't have any desire or feeling for it.
Toyota is on my economy list
BMW is on my luxury and fun list

No. They don't need to issue a recall. Everyone brings their cars in for problems anyway, so there's no need to call everyone in.

I would rather waste a little bit of time at the dealer with my E60, than waste ALL my time driving a boring lexus

And for the record... I think the E39 has had much fewer recalls than the current Toyota Sienna built since 2004. We'll have to see what the E60 does. The first year or two for BMWs hasn't been great but they get better with each year.

But did it make it on the TV news? Humm brakes... I guess it would...
There's currently a recall on my moms Mercedes C-Class... for airbag... steering airbag.
