Mini is still backlogged! Unbelievable! Good job, BMW!
Haha and the new model is going to come out soon too! Mines not back logged! Anyone want mine?

The M35 with the heavier steering that you test drove was probably the sports version. The non-sport version should have a much lighter steering than an E60.

Because "regular" ppl want light steering. Its easier to drive.
Funny, when I test drove the Infiniti M35 I found that its steering was a lot heavier than the E60's, almost as heavy as an old BMW's steering.

i hope i am not offending any one (i really mean it) but some people for some unfortunate reason need cars like infinity and lexus. They have some kind of memory in their memory system that they cant get rid of it and will not spend money on german cars. Saying that..i think those people do not mind spending that much $$$ on a japs!
. I dont want to get into politic..let's have fun....
Hey..i am a human too.

Ya theres very few compaines out there that makes such good steering feel and feedback like BMW. Japanese can step aside on this one. Merc steering feel is bad too. MINI is good!

Mazda cars have excellent steering feedback. They are not at the same level in terms of luxury and prestige but steering feedback is as good, if not better.
No No... I drove the Cayman S and instantly fell in love with that cars drive feel. Including steering and everything!

Actually I thought the M45 sport was about 95% of the 550 in terms of everything except features where it blew the 550 away. At $58K loaded, it is a steal for what you get. In fact, put a 6 speed auto trans in there and I might have considered it.
However, the dash was a bit too gimicky and the car seems too tall, so I spent the extra $12K and got the car I really wanted. But in short, I think BMW should be paying close attention to this car/brand.
PS - I can only dream of having a car that handles as well as the RX-8. Of course that happens when you have a very low weight engine, but still.

I drove the RX8 and I thought it was only ok.. I mean it was decent... *shrugs* maybe I'm too use to BMW and was just looking for a BMW feel.
