No manual tranny = No fun = No Way = No Infinit for me

Other than that I think it was a great review, Very honest and fair. I have not driven the M45 so cannot comment on its superior ergonomics. If they are like the Acura RLs then I do not consider them superior.

Kind of sad to see M45 has better review than 545i.

I wouldn't buy M45 even it has great review and good price because of infiniti's resale value.

Anyway, Infiniti has done very good job on these years. G35 and M45 are great cars.

Better review on total yes, but Interior and Exterior styling (and Ergonomics/controls to some extent as well) cost the 545 a lot of points, while these are probably the most subjective ratings.
They probably did not like the iDrive and the cooler/less cluttered dashboard approach.
These guys probably don't realise yet that all these buttons will be disappearing on all future cars... just a matter of a couple of generations till the average driver's brain has adapted to comprehend menu structures and navigation rules ...

Take out these styling ratings + leave price out of the evaluation (as this could be compensated by a 'resell value' rating), and the 545 would have won.

I wonder if they had an opportunity to keep the car they rated the best what they end up with. <hmm, no brainer...BMW> please!

If you take away the subjective ratings of interior and exterior, BMW will rank higher.

Good point. BMW won the performance, handling and drivetrain. The one thing I was confused about is that they liked BMW's brakes, yet the Infinity won on Braking and skidpad???? Maybe they just didn't like the fact that they get minimal roll on the skidpad with the BMW.

Performance/Handling/Drivetrain on hard facts. Interior styling and feel is subjective. It still goes to show you that if you want luxury performance, you buy the BMW.

If you want an ergonomically reliable vehicle, go ahead and by the Inifin or Lexus. You know you will still want the BMW.

When I read the M45 write up, I don't understand why they like it better than the BMW-- it doesn't perform as well, excpept on the skid pad, as the 545i. I've seen the car and its not attractive-- I don't know what they are thinking wrt giving it higher marks on style-- I mean, come on, the car is at least bland if not ugly. The write up doesn't really justify the top ranking they gave it. Also, if you look at the scores, they gave a 10pt advantage to the M45 due to price- but they admit in the review that the price advantage was arbitrary because the M45 came with few options and that if you equipped it comparably, it would fall in between the Lexus and the BMW. Another BS article. The M45 is ugly.

I am not biased, but IMHO, M45 looks too mature. The tail light looks like G35's butt after an acid rain.

The E60 front, especially the headlights, is better than M45.

E60 interior improvement is more than welcome.
