How about Acura MDX or Subaru Tribeca? Both seat 7 people (not that it's necessary for u) and have good gadgets. Price is reasonable.

Sliding doors mini-van are not cool
My wife wants to get a car that can sit 7 people and has a big storage area, so minvan is the only way I can go. :'( If I can get a 7 seater SUV, then I'll get the X5. But minivan is what the boss has asked for.

If that's the case, go with Toyota Sienna then. It is a reliable car and has tons of storage room at the back.

My boss hates mini-van....so I am lucky there

By the way arthurk, I see you are in Toronto too, are you interested to come to our GTA meet this spring?

It's not going to be modify to a pimped out look. It's just going to be some nice body kit and rims.

Here's a pic of the Japanese version Odyssey modified by Mugen.
I don't think that's available in Canada. Plus the Japanese Odyssey is similar to R class. If your boss ask for a minivan that's not going to do it.

Go for praticality, Both Toyota and Honda is very reliable and easy to maintain, but I would bet the Sienna will cost you more as Toyota charges a premium and there's alot more options on it.

And forget about modding it, is a minivan for god's sake Let your wife grew tired of it and switch it back to some other cars later.

You are in Hong Kong and you know what mods I'm talking about. I would say 50% of the minivan in HK has mods and many of them looks really nice.

Of course I know what mods you have in mind, those Estima aka Previa, Odyssey (Japan Version), Alphard and Elgrand looks really cool with body kit and large wheels. Hack even those Hiace looks nice with a body kit. Minivan in HK is another story.

But you know, when a car isn't available in Japan chances are there will be no body kit made for them and the Odyssey and Sienna in America/Canada is not available in Japan.

Plus another point is you are trying to convince your wife that minivan is uncool, or maybe I've made the wrong assumption

I would get some leather seats and probably some other options that's practical like DVD entertainment system for the minivan as is for the wife and kid only, you would be driving the bimmer most of the time right? So save a few bucks for mods on your bimmer instead of blowing it on the van, just my 2 cents.

I've always been trying to convince my wife that minivan is uncool and I'm still trying. But once you've got the order from the highest authority, you'll have to go take care of it no matter you like it or not. :'(

I'll be driving the bimmer most of the time when I'm going out alone. But when there's any driving involving my wife (and the baby of course), the e60 is out of the picture.

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel! Previous cars retired: 2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...
