My Ride: 2004 550i - AS, SP, CWP, Nav, L7, Rear Sunshades, PDC, Comfort Seats
Don't like the looks of Q7, its chasis is borrowed from the Touareg with the audi badges and options.... I would stick with the new X5, but would wait a year until all glitches are corrected in the first production year. I was an early adopter and knew what I was getting myself into with the numerous recalls and TSBs. If you can't wait, so be it!!
X5 all the way!!!

The new X5 (E70) will set new standards for all SUV's.
In US go for the V8 gas, but elsewhere enjoy the 3.0d!

I am not a big fan of Audi due to their quality. Not to mention their service is worse.
I will pick BMW over Audi.

If you want to do more research may want to visit the following X5 forum which is quite good.

This is very much a subjective view, but I think the Q7 is one of the ugliest vehicles I have seen in a while. It just looks so big and heavy and pointless and awkward. I really like Audi and have huge respect for their slick design and quality (particularly on the interior) but the Q7... well ... it's such a strange creation from Audi. I think they may have lost the plot.
I haven't seen the new X5 in the metal yet but it looks great in the photos and by all accounts, is very nice to drive.
