Rody, I have a question for you and it is completely off topic. Your front M-sport bumper is different in color than the rest of the car or am I just imagining? I was looking at your car because I am interested in getting my new 523i in Titanium Gray, and I noticed that your front bumper in the picture attached to your signature is a little bit more greenish that the rest of the car. May be it is just the reflection in the photo?

 

It kind of remind me of the old 928 rear.

 

It is slightly off but it is more obvious in pictures than in real life. My body shop tried a couple of different brands of OEM paints including Glasurit and PPG, and tried to manually "match" the paint as well, but it was still off a bit. I spoke to the paint shop foreman at the BMW Vehicle Distribution Center at Oxnard, California when we went there for the BMWCCA tour and he told me that they had problems matching the paint on Titanium Gray II also when they painted M Kits prior to delivery (they use Glasurit too). Because of this they had stopped pre-painting the M Kits prior to the cars' arrival for Titanium Gray II cars so that they could color match each kit to the specific TG II car after it arrived. For all other colors they could still pre-paint the kits and install them after the car arrived and the color would match pretty well. So it seems like TG II is a hard color to match for the paint manufacturers, paint shops, and body shops, even BMW's own VDC. I wouldn't let that stop you from buying a TG II car though, it is a beautiful and unique color in that it is a very elegant color as well as a sporty color. Again, the color difference is picked up more by the camera than in real life.

I think I would want my Porsche to remain 2 doors if I am going to buy one.

The M5 is different, BMW is not really a Sports car manufacturer like Porsche so is okay for them to make cars like M5. I still have a hard time accepting the fact that Porsche now has SUV it completely ruins their heritage.

They say the QP is better in every aspect of the M5, but hey I still like the M5 not that the QP is not a good car. So I will stll like a 2 door Porsche please.
