I just drove the Panamera today. Not bad. Ride was pretty good. I still can't get over a 4 door 911, it just looks weird. I still love my 550 over the panamera.

I was going by the dealer and saw this blue Panamera, so I had to stop. It was a well-optioned Turbo model with a $154k sticker. I liked it fine but didn't buy it.

Yep - the two latest 0-60 times for the Panamera Turbo are 3.3 in Car and Driver and 3.4 in Road & Track, with both tests also turning in fast 1/4 mile times (11.7@118 and 11.7@119).

One very quick car.

I had to ask myself "Why" when it was announced three years ago by Porsche of the decision to build the Panamera. Why would they want to build a sedan for God's sake. Especially a sedan aimed at an already crowded market in which there are numerous examples of fit, finish, and performance. But then I remember asking myself the same question when the Cayenne came out, and the wife will be getting hers in January. I wondered why in the hell Porsche would want to put water cooling in the 911, and now I really don't miss the old air style. so, i guess the Panamera represents change. No matter how you slice and dice it, the car will find a niche, establish a good volume, and in ten years we will be wondering why they decided to build a full size truck...I can't wait.

Just IMHO, but the Panamera looks like when you see a dog that was obviously the result of a Chihuahua and Great Dane mating. Still cute, but too funny looking to be taken seriously. If you want 0-60 in under 3.5 secs, get the damn 911 and be done with it. Do your kids really need whiplash?

What a great addition to Porsche ... especially if you want to have all Porsches in your stable:
  • a 911 for fun
  • a Cayenne for the wife
  • a Panamera for the family
