I know theres a couple porsche guys here, I was wondering if you would kindly post your vehicle sales deal if possible. Lease preferred. Any recommendations on a dealer that really "hooks it up"? Thanks.

Yeah, once that GTR hits the streets, you'll be able to pick up a used Porsche for pennies on the dollar. That guy in the GTR thread is going to be the next Warren Buffett with all the money he'll be pulling in taking Porsche trade-ins for $100k GTRs.

As for my deal - I have a 2007 Carrera S coupe, it lists for around 83K base but the trouble is that Porsche options are pretty pricey and soon add up. With my options, and I've got nothing particularly extravagant, mine listed all in at $96,000 but the dealer dropped it to about $88K without too much effort. Most optioned S models tend to list at between 90 and 100K or more, but dealers will discount. Porsche by the way does not subsidize its finance like BMWFS. If you're financing the car you may do better with a different lender.
Long story short is that Porsche dealers are generally pretty open to deals and (based on my experience) pretty cool to work with.

Good luck shoppin' for the p-car x.
at the end of the day, X will be driving a Porsche home, not a Datsun/Nissan
its like the analogy where you can get a fast-ass Honda that can beat a Viper or any other fast car.
Its still a Honda at the end of the day.

You can get deals on the 997 without too much effort. One very important thing if you are in the market right now - a mid life refresh is due later this year. Subtle tweaks to the body but major changes elsewhere - new DFI engines with more power than the current engines and the new PDK gearbox (double clutch paddle shift gearbox). If you were in the market you could hold out for an 09 facelift or get a stellar deal on the current 2008 models as the facelifts are about to hit the market. PDK is going to be awesome. If you are looking for a turbo or one of the GT models, I don't think they will be immediately available with the facelift.

Did you end up financing or leasing yours? Is the 997 your everyday car?
