Now the cops have to go slow on any potholes..... Are the 997 pictures real or photoshopped???? its just hard to believe cops have aftermarket upgrades as well.....

They do that here....they do it so that they can pretend they want to drag race people at the traffic lights, and then when they do, they can pull em over and book em

Doesn't appear to have the sport package though. Looks like the standard wheels that come on the 525i/530i w/o sport, but it appears to have the shadowline trim. Maybe it's a different thing for the 530d?

I sure like the way the other counties decorate/decal their police cars. Looks much more sharp/modern than the Crown Victorias and Impalas in the US.

I remember reading somewhere that Lamborghini gave the Gallardo to the Police for free - pretty good marketing idea. I wonder if VW will donate a Veyron next

the lambo the italian police only has 1, they got it as a present fpr some annerversary (I dunno, 200 years police or something like that).

Now, the Porsche is typical for the Autobahn police, the Netherlands (Holland) even drives them as covertibles, looks really silly when the top is open and the red light is still there! Only for high speed chases on the Autobahn, and only Autobahn. But when there is some chasing to do, a heli is usually there in a couple of minutes, its just to keep track of the dude until the high speed police car comes. There are no car chasings as I know it from the states (lived there for 6 years, I love it!!).

Now, the 5 series police car is just a everyday police car. I dunno how many of you guys every seen the Country your car comes from, but typical police city cars are 5 series and E-class and some other junk. But they drive the smallest (or second smallest) diesel engine, no funny stuff, always diesel, no exeption in the city (or rather non-Autobahn police cars). They are not for chasing bad people , I hear we have CB radio for that.

But the 5 for Dubai (united arabic emirates, not India) looks scary, whats up with the fence in the front and back??

Oh, forgot the unmarked, its gettin scary here, unmarked cars everywhere! They drive behind or in front of you, have cameras everywhere, record everything.

But its still ok here I guess, the only thing we have to be careful of is tailgateing, speeding is legal

Actually, the Italian Polizia Stradale (Highways Police) got another Lambo, so they have two of them, now. I met one on a couple of times, the cops were patrolling highways in the Northeast of Italy. But the most widespread highspeed pursuing patrol cars of Polizia Stradale are Subaru Legacy Wagon with gasoline turbo engine. More common tasks are cared of by Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon (many of them 2.4 lt turbodiesel!), BMW 320-325 Touring and, recently, 320d Touring.
Common police uses a lot of Fiat of several different models; the strange thing is that most unmarked police cars are now Korean sedans (usually Hyundai Sonata) that have no market at all in Italy.
So, if you see a white or silver grey unmarked Sonata, no doubt: it's a police car!
