The number of launches are told to the owner when you bring your car in for service and you give them your key fob. Once they plug the fob into the computer, they know everything. Just ask them to show you the fob and have them insert it into the computer and you can view it right there on the screen. iDrive and CarFax won't show you this.

My car should sell this weekend. I cannot wait to pick up the new beast on Thursday (Whatever it turns out to be 
)I will try my best to find a 2007 BMW M5, but if I find a low mileage 2006 I might just bite the bullet and take the risk and get the GE Aftermarket 5 Star Warranty.

So now I need to pick a color and custom license plate.
My favorite colors right now are Indy Red, followed by Intra Blue. I already had a silver car, and black cars show scratches and dirt too easily. I guess my third choice would be white.
For License plates I am going with a custom Virginia Tech Plate with one of the below combinations (as I rank them in my head):
? 4AUDBN
? M-SIDE
? MNSIDE
? 10BNGR
? M-Fun
? VBMW10
? MDRIVE
? MBUTTN
Let me know what you guys think.

otherwise I will be going with Easy Care or Warranty Solutions "Wachovia" (Formally owned by GE)
Yeah 10BNGR is like my least favorite cause its kind of in your face.
I always liked 4AUDBN and M-SIDE (Kinda like Intel Inside, M in side, and M side of things)

IIRC, 2007 M5s got an updated SMG pump or something like that. Many 2006 M5s had significant SMG issues. I personally would start with the '07s.
I followed their issues on m5board.com. For many reasons, but mostly cost, I went for the 550i instead.

To follow up on this issue I think the updated SMG pump was put into place during the 2006 builds and later meaning only the 2005 builds suffered from not having this pump. Someone please confirm me if I am wrong. There has got to be some documentation on the VINS (or exact build date ranges) that did not have this pump and vice versa.

There is a Black sapphire M5 2006 fully loaded with 46k going at the auction on Friday. I am tempted, but I really do not want a black car.....we will see what happens

Black sapphire metallic is one of the most beautiful all of the E60's colors. But black is a major PITA to keep looking clean.
Is carbon black more common on E60's? I am not sure if I have even seen sapphire black metallic in person?
I really want Red or Blue but I realize that they are pretty rare.....
